We want your experience at the Center for Health & Healing to feel simple, safe, and stress-free. Below you’ll find answers to the most common questions we receive, along with our studio policies to help you plan your practice with ease.

Frequently Asked Questions

Arrive a few minutes before class to sign in and complete a short waiver form. We have mats and towels for rent if you don’t have your own. Remove your shoes, silence your phone, and settle into the studio. If you have any injuries or health concerns, let your instructor know before class begins.

  • Wear light, comfortable clothing such as sports tops, t-shirts, or loose-fitting pants.
  • Yoga is practiced barefoot. Please remove shoes at the door and place them on the shelves provided.
  • Bring a mat if you have one. If not, mats are available to rent for $1 or to purchase at the studio.
  • Blankets and props are available, but many students choose to purchase their own if practicing regularly.

 Absolutely! Yoga is for every body. Flexibility is something you build through practice, not a requirement to begin. Our teachers offer modifications and props so that every student can benefit, no matter their level.

Yes. Many men practice yoga here and find it improves flexibility, recovery, athletic performance, and sleep

You’re welcome to drop in for any class. Many students choose class cards or memberships for cost savings and convenience

Yoga is a Sanskrit word meaning “to yoke” or “to unite.” It’s a system of practices that bring balance to body, mind, and spirit. In the U.S., yoga often refers to the physical poses (asana), but these are just one of eight “limbs” of yoga.

Om is a mantra chanted at the beginning and end of many yoga sessions. It’s considered the sound of the universe, connecting us to nature’s rhythms. Chanting Om can also create vibrations that benefit the sinuses and calm the nervous system.

While all levels are alays welcome - generally speaking:

  • Beginner-friendly: Beginner, Gentle, Restorative, Gentle Flow, Chair, All Levels,

  • Intermediate: Slow Flow, Moderate, Hip Opener, All Levels, Stretch and Strength, Warm Flow.

Challenging: Vinyasa, Hot Yoga, Hot Flow, Bikram, Heat, Sculpt, Xen Strength, Hot 26.

Yes, but avoid hot yoga, deep twists, or any pose that feels uncomfortable. Prenatal, Gentle, and Hip-Opening classes are great options. Always let your instructor know you’re pregnant, and stay hydrated.

 Hot yoga can:

  • Burn fat more effectively
  • Increase range of motion
  • Improve circulation and detoxification
  • Strengthen willpower and concentration
  • Provide a cardiovascular workout

Reduce injury risk by warming muscles and connective tissue

The more consistently you practice, the more benefits you’ll feel. Even one class per week can make a difference, but we recommend two or more for lasting results.

Yoga can often support healing, but always check with your doctor first. Let your instructor know about your injury so they can suggest modifications.

Yoga offers countless benefits, including stress relief, improved circulation, stronger muscles, better sleep, and greater flexibility. Free paved parking is available adjacent to the studio, along the fence and across from the opposite side of the Mister Softee building. There is also free neighborhood street parking — please observe signage.

Yes.

  • 10-class pass: 3 months
  • 20-class pass: 4 months
  • 1-month unlimited: 1 month
  • 3-month unlimited: 3 months
  • 6-month unlimited: 6 months

Annual unlimited: 1 year

 Yes. Unused passes may be reactivated for 2 months for a $29 fee, as long as the reactivation is within 1 year of the original expiration date.

Our Yoga Studio Policies

Inclement Weather Cancellations

If classes are cancelled due to weather, we’ll update the schedule and Facebook page at least 2 hours in advance, all those registered will receive direct notice, text and/or email if set up.

Refund Policy

All purchases (class cards, unlimited passes, drop-ins, and workshop fees) are final, unless otherwise stated in an event description.

Returned Checks

A $25 fee applies to returned or canceled checks.

Schedule Changes

Schedules, teachers, pricing, and memberships are subject to change. Always check our website for the latest updates. Also each month we try to enhance the schedule.

Expired Class Cards

Expired packages may be reactivated for $29 within 1 year of the original purchase date (maximum 60-day extension).

Extensions

Extensions are only available with a doctor’s note for medical reasons.

Waivers

All new students must complete a waiver before participating in class.

Lateness

If you’re late, please enter quietly and respectfully.

Activation

All passes activate at the time of purchase.

Karma Desk Program

Volunteer at the front desk 4–5 hours a week in exchange for free yoga. This program keeps our community strong and connected.

Workshop Cancellations

Some workshops require a minimum number of participants. If an event is canceled, you will be notified and receive a full refund.

Feedback

We value your input and strive to make every class a positive experience. Please share your feedback with us anytime.

Health & Courtesy

If you’re sick or contagious, while we love to see you, please feel better and get well before coming to class.

Studio Etiquette

  • Arrive a few minutes early
  • Remove shoes in the hallway
  • Keep voices low to maintain a calm space
  • Silence phone
  • Return mats/props after use
  • Inform your teacher of injuries or pregnancy
  • If you must leave early, do so before savasana to avoid disruption

     

Lost & Found

 Items left behind will be kept for 2 weeks, then donated.

Practice Tips

  • Yoga is best practiced barefoot and on an empty stomach (avoid eating 1–3 hours before class).
  • Wear light, breathable clothing.
  • Stay hydrated.
